Daily Reminiscences
Every morning, she goes to her room,
And opens the curtains to let the sunlight in.
‘Rise and shine, my dear,’ she says,
As she takes a piece of cloth, and starts dusting.
She dusts the cupboard and the desk,
Folds the bedsheets and makes the bed.
At sunset, she comes back,
Closes the curtains, and switches on the lights,
She sits on the bed,
Unfolds the bed sheet,
And slowly puts it over the empty place beside her.
She takes a book from the bookshelf-
‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’, her daughter’s favorite,
And starts reading it, her voice choked with emotion,
For her daughter had left her, way too soon.
