The Impermanence Of Childhood

 The Impermanence Of Childhood

There was a time,

When I hadn’t a worry at all.

I’d go to school every day,

Meet lovely people,

I’d play for hours with my friends,

With a forever smile on my face,

Nothing to be afraid of,

Except the villains in Disney princess movies.

I enjoyed my life,

Living in the bliss of ignorance,

Little did I know that these years were impermanent.

One day, the witch of reality knocked on my door,

And woke me up from my illusory world.

I saw the demons of reality,

And the true colors of people around,

I couldn’t go back to my reverie,

I’d now forever be rooted in reality.
