A Fresh Start
A Fresh Start
My eyes flutter open,
As the first rays of sunshine
Sneak in through the curtains.
I rub my half-sleepy eyes,
Push back my tangled hair,
And stumble out of my bedroom.
I boil a little milk,
Add a little decoction,
And make myself a cup of coffee.
As I step onto my balcony,
The morning breeze welcomes me,
With the scent of hope and arrival.
The dew drops on the jasmine leaves,
Look so fresh and full of energy,
And revive my dormant spirits.
The morning air removes the remnants
Of the previous night from my mind,
And prepares me for a brand new start.
