My Forever Love

Image
My Forever Love Mon Amour! I fell in love with you, When we were but young kids, That sunny day, on a bench in the park, You looked like an angel, With eyes that shined with a hazel glow, And wavy, black hair, That swayed in the gentle breeze. Just looking at your sweet face, Is enough to elicit a smile from me, Even on the darkest of days. Just hearing your voice, Can make my heart skip A thousand beats a minute. Just a soft touch From your delicate fingers, Can heal all the wounds in my life. The sun might never rise again, The birds might never sing another song, All the flowers in the world might wither away, But I will love you forever.

From Lovers To Strangers

Image
From Lovers To Strangers “How was your day?”, she asked, As she opened the door, “It was fine”, he said, And that was the end of their conversation, With neither making eye contact, Or showing a bit of emotion in their voices. Gone were the days when they talked for hours, Wrapped up in each other’s embrace, Enjoying the company of each other. Now a thick wall of silence hung between them, An uncomfortable, awkward silence; They had become strangers, once again.

The Perfect Love

Image
The Perfect Love There she was, The hourglass figure, With a frilled dress  Against her pale skin. She looked perfect, And I wanted her all for myself. She seemed all alone, Standing there all by herself. I decided to seize the opportunity, Alas! My brother savored the last pasta piece.

War Spells Doom

Image
War Spells Doom A monochrome oil painting, With a variety of white geometric figures, Against a black backdrop, The painting, ‘Guernica’ spoke of the misery Of innocent people who suffered loss, For no fault of theirs. The city of Guernica, in northern Spain, Was bombed by the Nazis and Fascist Italy, To wipe out the Republican rebels, But erased all love and harmony, instead. Picasso’s careful, but powerful strokes, Revealed the trauma of the people, in a war-stricken world. A woman whose house was destroyed by the bombs, Fell down with her house, her cries going unheard. Another woman cradled a dead child in her arms, With her face etched with lines of agony and torment, She wailed, mourning the loss of her child. Flames consumed everything in their way, Eating up people and buildings alike, Turning a once vibrant city, full of joy and cheer, Into a black-and-white place of ruins.

Snape’s Unheard Pleas

Image
Snape’s Unheard Pleas Oh! My sweet Lily! The only love of my life, You hold a special place in my heart. I remember when I first saw you in Hogwarts, ‘Twas the moment I fell in love with you. When everyone made fun of me, You were the only one who had a kind word for me, You were an angel not only on the outside, but also on the inside. I thought we both would be together, But you ended up with James, Why him? I still think every day, I might not have been popular, Yet, wasn’t I a gentle, caring person? Alas! The Dark Lord took you away, way too soon, But there isn’t a moment when I don’t think of you, I can still see you in Harry’s eyes, And I’ll always protect him from the dark world. *** This is a poem in which Severus Snape from the 'Harry Potter' series talks about his love for Lily, Harry's mother. Snape had a complicated personality in the series. In the beginning, he's portrayed as a cruel person, who hated Harry and was a supporter of Voldemort, but towards t...

Those Little Things

Image
Those Little Things It’s time for us to part ways, Oh! Couldn’t it have lasted a little longer? Those twinkling eyes were what I fell in love with first, I could see a whole universe behind those eyes, They ignited a small fire in my heart, My heart would melt, just by looking at them. You always made me smile every day, With your sweet words that you whispered in my ear, As you wrapped me in a warm embrace. The way you took my face in your hands, And pushed away a stray strand of hair, As you planted a kiss on my forehead, Was enough to brighten me up, even on the darkest of days. We may no longer be together, Yet, you’ll forever live on in my heart.

Carpe Diem

Image
Carpe Diem Mon Amor! Every moment I spend with you, Is a moment I will always hold dear in my heart. Your soft face, with doe-shaped eyes, A sweet smile, and long, silky, black hair, Is like the delicate petals of a rose, Which might whither away after a while, But which I will cherish, right now, in this moment. Let’s dance in a field of pink and yellow tulips, To the mellifluous songs of the thrushes, Under a ceiling, painted in light shades of blue, For hours and hours, looking into each other’s eyes, As if tomorrow doesn’t exist. Let’s lie on the soft, green grass, And gaze at the stars above, Twinkling in the night sky, And hold each other’s hands, Finding solace in the silence of the night. Mon Amor! Let’s make the most of these moments, Sans a worry about what the future may hold.

Love- A Strong Bond

Image
Love- A Strong Bond Love is a bond that connects us all, Whoever we are, wherever we’re from. It is a strong force that keeps the world from falling apart, Forging understandings amongst humanity. If only all countries had the same kind of love, Sans conflicts and any kind of hatred, Would our world be devoid of war; All of us could live as one in harmony.

Bewitching Love

Image
Bewitching Love In an elegant dress, you look so fine, my dear, Your soft skin glows with a perfect shine, my dear. Your pretty eyes have never failed to leave me mesmerized, Your beauty’s so pure and pristine, my dear. I can melt in your tender gaze, all day, all night, Your dulcet words are like an elixir, so divine, my dear. You’re like a goddess, so enchanting, Every moment, for you, I pine, my dear. My thoughts revolve around you, only you, Your love’s intoxicating like sweet, red wine, my dear. Please hear my fervent pleas, Oh, Gayathri ! You can forever be mine, my dear. *** This poem is written in the form of a ghazal. It consists of five couplets about love, sadness, and rebellion of a lover who disbelieves anything, even religion, pain, and passion. The ghazal contains a rhyme or repeated refrain. The first couplet contains the rhyme or repeated refrain at the end of both lines. For every stanza after, however, the refrain is only repeated at the end of the second line....

Dreamland- A Land Of Bliss

Image
Dreamland- A Land Of Bliss Every night, when I lie in my soft, cozy bed, As soon as my head hits my pillow, I’m taken into another world, Where the fantasies in my mind become real. Fairies and unicorns fly in a purple sky Having blue and pink clouds that look like cotton candy. Several butterflies of different colors and shapes swirl around me, As they land on the soft petals of pretty roses, That infuse a sweet fragrance in the cool air. I visit the little cottages of pixies and gnomes, Made of mushrooms or oak trees, Deep in the thick woods, Where the sunlight travels through layers of leaves, Giving the woods a surreal glow. I swim deep in the cerulean-blue waters of the sea, Along with mermaids who rule the coral reefs below. I wear elegant tiaras and dainty gowns, And sit in intricately carved thrones In a lovely castle where I’m a princess. Oh! How I wish I could stay here forever, In an eternal dreamland, Where I’m always joyful and carefree.

A Walk In The Woods

Image
A Walk In The Woods I take a walk in the woods, In the early hours of the morning, When the sun’s just risen, And not many are up yet. Though I have a peaceful sleep at night, The moment I awake, My mind gets filled  With perturbing thoughts, Reality suddenly hangs before me, The world becomes too fast and too slow, All at the same time. A stroll through the woods, That is filled with a soothing silence, Broken only by my footsteps, As I tread on the soft grass, Frees my mind from  The worries of a dreary world, Refreshing it for a new day.
